Cadets Kathryn Bryant and Cody Meadows successfully completed the
2008 Tri-Wing Encampment held 22 - 29 June at Camp Fretterd Military Reservation in Reisterstown, MD. Nearly
250 staff and cadet from two CAP regions and five CAP wings participated.
Major Jon Johnson, former Wicomico Squadron Commander and current member, was named "Mentor
of the Encampment" by Col. Jerry Weiss, Maryland Wing Commander. Major Johnson served as Commandant of Cadets.
Training in cadet basics was the top priority during the eight-day
event. Activities included classroom sessions on Civil Air Patrol and U.S. Air Force topics, aerospace education, and emergency
services. In addition, cadets trained in drill and ceremonies and competed in nightly volleyball competitions.
